the scent
tree sap | campfire smoke | fir needle | cardamom | black pepper | incense
fly, firebird is my tribute to the eagles who call the sacred lands of big bear valley home. this scent, its story, and my sister were the main inspirations for starting heartsong candles. it was the first scent i ever made, and is the essence of heartsong itself.
it is a blend of tree sap & fir needles, with cardamom under a veil of campfire smoke. the subtle notes that may linger after a great magic blankets the forest.
the story
‘high in the still valley of the sacred bear lake, a searing flash rends the night sky. the old mountain pines set aside their passivity tonight to bow their heads with sorrow. the eagle song now calls alone.
his gaze follows the quiet of the treeline, yet still, he knows her presence. he looks up suddenly as the treetop erupts in light: a brilliant fireball crests the mountain peaks, blazing proudly through the dark. striking, beautiful.
and he knows she has come home.
her spirit now blankets the valley in love, in protection, guardian of this land.
he breathes softly.
she is always with him.

candle care
best practices for longest lasting burn
- always keep an eye on candle while burning
- do not burn for longer than 4 hours at a time
- trim wick to 1/4” above wax before every burn (or pinch off burnt wick)
- let melt pool reach entire surface for first burn for best longevity
- keep open flame away from pets, children, drafts, flammable materials
- stop burning when 1/2” of wax remains
after use care
- warm wax is easy to scoop out with paper towel or spoon. toss old wax & wick/wick clip in trash (not sink!)
- wash jar & lid with hot soapy water
- repurpose as flower vase, spice jar, trinket holder, anything you like!
